<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Z5VuJ3aW6ag/U3oULG6qzhI/AAAAAAAABL0/xdWqvNYEKAo/s1600/the+resort.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Z5VuJ3aW6ag/U3oULG6qzhI/AAAAAAAABL0/xdWqvNYEKAo/s1600/the+resort.jpg" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="text-align: justify;">It started with a heavy rain...then the water level was high in the city streets..plus jeepneys were always full..I got out of the house around 4:30PM but reached the office of my travel buddy around 6PM, by the way our house is just 30 minutes ride on a normal day..perhaps the weather is trying to send me a message not to push through with our impending travel to the southern part of Mindanao but we went on with the plan anyway..</span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S4YSR6r6oO4/U3oUIgKRN4I/AAAAAAAABLQ/dx-V7--M6Ls/s1600/cold+pool.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S4YSR6r6oO4/U3oUIgKRN4I/AAAAAAAABLQ/dx-V7--M6Ls/s1600/cold+pool.jpg" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
6:45PM - we were finally at the Bus Terminal. At exactly 7PM the bus left the terminal and our adventure began. We reached Digos Terminal around 9PM. We originally plan to go directly to <b>Ang Tribu Bagobo Woodlands Resorts</b> but since it is already late and the travel going to our main destination is not safe during night time, we opted to just spend the night over in Digos City – which by the way is not part of our plan.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We woke up early the next day so that we still have enough time to explore the place and enjoy the beauty of nature in <b>Ang Tribu Bagobo Woodlands Resort</b>. Travel time from Digos to Sitio Mahayag is about 30 to 45 minutes depending on the speed of the motorcycle.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You have two transportation options going to <b>Ang Tribu Bagobo Woodlands Resort</b>: one is by the conventional way - the van ride and the not so conventional one - the motorcycle ride. We chose the second option because we were told that we have to wait for two hours before we can leave Digos City if we will ride the van. After a bumpy and curvy motorcycle ride, we finally reached our destination! We were greeted by the staff of the resort and our friends were also waiting for us.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Knhjy7njeWI/U3oUKviLDiI/AAAAAAAABLY/6-GSqhcmgAA/s1600/the+garden.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Knhjy7njeWI/U3oUKviLDiI/AAAAAAAABLY/6-GSqhcmgAA/s1600/the+garden.jpg" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The place was indeed scenic. In the background, you can see two gorgeous mountains – Mt. Matutum and Mt. Apo. We were surrounded with mountains and trees and I just love the smell of the fresh air – something that you can't smell in the city these days.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After breakfast, we began taking pictures and touring the resort. We then dipped into their cold swimming pool. I had a quick lesson on how to float from my swimmer friends - Ars and Mae. We're friends for more than a decade already and they two are also my constant travel mate.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It was already late in the afternoon that we decided to pack our bags and head back home. We were very confident that we will be able to get a ride back to Digos City without a hassle but we were wrong! We waited for more than 30 minutes already and still couldn't get a ride back to the City. It started to rain and riding a motorcycle is not the safest thing to do because of the slippery road. Good thing that the resort have their own service and the management allowed to take us to the city for a reasonable price.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another trip has come to an end and another experience will be put to memory book! Till next time travel buddies!</div>

Camiguin is an island province located in the northern coast of Mindanao. It is the second smallest in the Philippines in terms of land area and population next only to Batanes.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hg-jukDwHxk/UQdeZal4pVI/AAAAAAAAA-I/8wJE4KWJLuI/s1600/camiguin+benoni+port.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hg-jukDwHxk/UQdeZal4pVI/AAAAAAAAA-I/8wJE4KWJLuI/s320/camiguin+benoni+port.jpg" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Just this weekend, together with my friends – we invade the province! Our long journey started in an 8-hour bus ride from Davao City to Cagayan De Oro. From the Agora Bus Terminal we rented a van going to Balingoan Port – approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes travel time depending on the speed of the vehicle. Then we boarded a barge from Balingoan Port going to Benoni Port – another 1 hour travel time. To sum it up, we traveled 10 hours and 30 minutes just to reach the “The Island Born of Fire” but it was all worth it! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When we got off from the barge, we were greeted by numerous locals offering their tour services. The driver for our tour was already waiting for us and so wasted no time! We first had our breakfast at the Lagoon Bistro before embarking on our day long tour. We were scheduled to visit Camiguin’s six tourist spots namely Sto Niño Cold Spring, Old Church, Sunken Cemetery, Walkway to the Cross, Katibawasan Falls, and Ardent Hot Spring. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>First Stop: Sto Niño Cold Spring.</b> If you are looking for a soothing place in Camiguin, head on to this one. The place is perfect for a quite cold spring getaway. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TxZ0tKO7aak/UQdfbOYD-JI/AAAAAAAAA-U/eMsdPp1lx4Q/s1600/sto+ni%25C3%25B1o+cold+spring.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TxZ0tKO7aak/UQdfbOYD-JI/AAAAAAAAA-U/eMsdPp1lx4Q/s320/sto+ni%25C3%25B1o+cold+spring.jpg" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Second Stop: Old Church Ruins.</b> The church was destroyed when Mt. Volcan erupted in 1871. You can still see pieces of the old church’s structures. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gYddF_dtsfk/UQdhGoZCDXI/AAAAAAAAA_k/xK9WnStYpaw/s1600/old+church+camiguin.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gYddF_dtsfk/UQdhGoZCDXI/AAAAAAAAA_k/xK9WnStYpaw/s320/old+church+camiguin.jpg" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Third Stop: Sunken Cemetery.</b> It is one of the famous tourist attractions in the island of Camiguin. The famous cross sitting in the middle of the sea is famous for photo background. According to the locals, tombs are still visible under water up until this time. Locals are willing to take you to the cross for a small fee of 20 pesos per head. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pHUqwDD4Gz4/UQdhGZTOlJI/AAAAAAAAA_g/iKBDN3ZxHQI/s1600/sunken+cemetery.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pHUqwDD4Gz4/UQdhGZTOlJI/AAAAAAAAA_g/iKBDN3ZxHQI/s320/sunken+cemetery.jpg" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Fourth Stop: Walkway to the Old Volcano.</b> This place is especially crowded during Lenten Season. We did not go all the way as it will take us few minutes to reach the top so we just had our photo-op in the first few steps…lol! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WjR_iurSJH0/UQdk7BYz43I/AAAAAAAABBQ/gH9YF7fJvvY/s1600/walkway+to+the+old+volcano.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WjR_iurSJH0/UQdk7BYz43I/AAAAAAAABBQ/gH9YF7fJvvY/s320/walkway+to+the+old+volcano.jpg" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Before heading to our next stop, we dropped our things at Paguia’s Cottages where we will spend the night. The place is big enough to accommodate 8 guests. The room is air-conditioned and has a cable TV. Unfortunately their WIFI is very slow so we were not able to take advantage of it. It was already late in the afternoon when we had our lunch at Northern Lights Restaurant. The food was sumptuous and price is just right. After filling our empty stomach, we are now ready to continue our adventure. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_XqxSZFTnds/UQdltFCvtuI/AAAAAAAABBc/TMAhRxUr5X4/s1600/paguia's+cottages.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_XqxSZFTnds/UQdltFCvtuI/AAAAAAAABBc/TMAhRxUr5X4/s320/paguia's+cottages.jpg" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Fifth Stop: Katibawasan Falls.</b> Too bad it was raining when we got there. The water from above the falls was muddy and guests were not allowed to plunge into the water. So we just had our photos taken with the falls behind us. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k-fkjS7_HBk/UQdjVM9UURI/AAAAAAAABAk/fFgpQ_l3CNI/s1600/katibawan+falls.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k-fkjS7_HBk/UQdjVM9UURI/AAAAAAAABAk/fFgpQ_l3CNI/s320/katibawan+falls.jpg" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Before going to our last stop for the day, we went to their “Centro” to buy some lanzones and their famous food pasalubong called “pastel”. Camiguin is famous for its Lanzones Festival during August. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Sixth Stop: Ardent Hot Spring.</b> We ended our day tour with a hot spring bath. It was my first time to take a dip in a hot spring and it was such a nice feeling. The luke warm water can really ease the tensions in your muscles. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mkXPVWVMcIk/UQdjTiE9RoI/AAAAAAAABAc/s__odQnzi74/s1600/ardent+hot+spring.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mkXPVWVMcIk/UQdjTiE9RoI/AAAAAAAABAc/s__odQnzi74/s320/ardent+hot+spring.jpg" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Then we headed back to Paguia’s Cottages to relax our tired bodies from a whole day of travel and adventure. The following day we head on to the <b>White Island</b>. When you are in Camiguin, you should not miss this island. It’s not comparable to Boracay but still a lot of tourists go here to complete their Camiguin trip. There are no cottages or restaurants here; with you are just the crystal clear water and white sand. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eZy9QWrU2ZU/UQdjRIQVsZI/AAAAAAAABAU/Z0le6AM7YEs/s1600/white+island+camiguin.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eZy9QWrU2ZU/UQdjRIQVsZI/AAAAAAAABAU/Z0le6AM7YEs/s320/white+island+camiguin.jpg" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Then it was time for us to bid goodbye to the Island Born of Fire. We headed back to the Benoni Port to go back to Cagayan De Oro to catch our 5PM flight! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Lf5wv6BHZHc/UFq5SI8Uv5I/AAAAAAAAA6U/ANozWulFaOQ/s1600/kaputian+samal.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Lf5wv6BHZHc/UFq5SI8Uv5I/AAAAAAAAA6U/ANozWulFaOQ/s320/kaputian+samal.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="text-align: justify;">Dating back to my college years, I’ve been hearing good things about <st1:place><st1:placename>Kaputian</st1:placename> <st1:placename>Public</st1:placename> <st1:placetype>Beach</st1:placetype> <st1:placetype>Park</st1:placetype></st1:place>. My professors used to spend their summer outings there and even my classmates were awe of its beauty. Fast forward to 2012, while planning for the send off party of one of my colleagues, we were looking for a beach where we can celebrate the event. Our first choice was Isla Reta but since most of us visited the place already we opted to keep the table open until Kaputian Beach Resort came into our minds. We wanted to go to a place where most of us haven’t been to and so we booked for an overnight stay in <st1:place><st1:placename>Kaputian</st1:placename> <st1:placename>Public</st1:placename> <st1:placetype>Beach</st1:placetype> <st1:placetype>Park</st1:placetype></st1:place>.
</span><br />
<span style="text-align: justify;"><br /></span>
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VBy_reYDCUo/UFq4hAhcQPI/AAAAAAAAA54/o-dY6R9ZYBY/s1600/kaputian+beach+park+samal.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VBy_reYDCUo/UFq4hAhcQPI/AAAAAAAAA54/o-dY6R9ZYBY/s320/kaputian+beach+park+samal.jpg" width="320" /></a><st1:place style="text-align: justify;"><st1:placename>Kaputian</st1:placename> <st1:placename>Public</st1:placename> <st1:placetype>Beach</st1:placetype> <st1:placetype>Park</st1:placetype></st1:place><span style="text-align: justify;"> is the best destination to go to i</span>f you want to relax and unwind without hurting your pocket. You can experience the same feeling of relaxation you get in other high end beach resorts at a very affordable price. Though it’s a public beach resort, you don’t have to worry about the cleanliness of the place because there are staffs maintaining the beach park. There are also security guards roaming around the vicinity so that makes you feel secure. One thing I like about the place is that even if it’s a public beach, you can still enjoy the beach without rubbing elbows with other beach goers.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Lf5wv6BHZHc/UFq5SI8Uv5I/AAAAAAAAA6U/ANozWulFaOQ/s1600/kaputian+samal.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><br /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Lf5wv6BHZHc/UFq5SI8Uv5I/AAAAAAAAA6U/ANozWulFaOQ/s1600/kaputian+samal.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><br /></a><br />
<br />
The prices are very affordable,
the open cottage cost Php300 while rooms for overnight cost around Php300 to Php800.
The entrance fee for day tour is Php15 and Php75 for overnight. If you are bringing
tent with you, you need to pay Php100 or if you want to rent a tent it will
cost you Php250. There’s no corkage fee however if you bring will rice cooker or any
electric appliances, they will charge you Php50 for electric consumption.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-t4oHKLS2e1E/UFq4zQDtHVI/AAAAAAAAA6A/PK6ldZIRplg/s1600/kaputian+beach+park.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-t4oHKLS2e1E/UFq4zQDtHVI/AAAAAAAAA6A/PK6ldZIRplg/s320/kaputian+beach+park.jpg" width="320" /></a>Reaching the beach is easy. You have two options; by land or by water. If you like going there by land, then you have to wait for a bus going to Kaputian at Sta Ana wharf. There are only few buses that will go directly to Kaputian so you have to be early in the terminal. Another option of going there is via “lantsa”. First trip of the “lantsa” going to Kaputian is at 1PM. So if you want to make the most of your stay in the beach, I suggest you take the bus. Going back to <st1:city>Davao</st1:city> on the other hand is also easy. For the lansta, traveling schedule are <st1:time hour="19" minute="0">7AM, 9AM</st1:time>, and <st1:time hour="15" minute="0">3PM</st1:time> as for the bus there’s no definite time, just be in the terminal because anytime there’s a bus waiting for passengers going to <st1:city>Davao</st1:city>. The travel time is approximately 2 hours by land and 1 hour by water.

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wnvbZOquwSA/UEYHA9P5a_I/AAAAAAAAA30/wUOyk4PQpCc/s1600/davao+eagle+ridge+resort+pool.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wnvbZOquwSA/UEYHA9P5a_I/AAAAAAAAA30/wUOyk4PQpCc/s320/davao+eagle+ridge+resort+pool.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Davao Eagle Ridge Resort is located in Upper Ulas in Davao City. This is actually the first resort you’ll going to see if you are passing by the Davao-Bukidnon road. It is just along the highway, so getting there is not going to be a problem if you don’t have your own car. It has been in operation for quite some time now but last year they had a renovation so they had to stop the operation for awhile. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I finally had the chance to visit the resort last Sunday. Together with my two friends, we had ocular visit because we are considering it as the venue of our upcoming company Christmas Party. The best thing about my visit was that I didn’t spend any dime since it was paid by the company. However, before I get to enjoy the place, I need to take care of some business first. I need to get all necessary information for my report the following day. After I settled everything from the manager and taking photos of the resort, now I can enjoy the place. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So here’s my take on the Davao Eagle Ridge Resort. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--n4sU7p9pRM/UEYL58_G_tI/AAAAAAAAA4o/8so_fotxWHE/s1600/davao+eagle+ridge+resort+entrance.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--n4sU7p9pRM/UEYL58_G_tI/AAAAAAAAA4o/8so_fotxWHE/s320/davao+eagle+ridge+resort+entrance.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
First, the resort is gated and there's a security guard on standby, so it is perfectly safe. It has a spacious parking lot inside. Before you getting to the main area, you get to see a several kinds of fruit trees. Second, the rooms for overnight stay are beautifully constructed and well maintained plus all rooms are air-conditioned. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There’s a restaurant inside the place to satisfy your hungry stomach. The resto offers hito and tilapia dishes. There's a mini playground for kids. The resort only has one pool and it is 6 feet deep. There's no kiddie pool, so it is advisable that kids should be with their guardians when in the pool area. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The resort is also accepting special events such as weddings and birthdays.Their function hall and open space can accommodate huge number of guests. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Overall, I give the place 7 out 10. It is not really best place there is but if you just want to relax without having to go too far then you check out Davao Eagle Ridge Resort. During our visit, we were the only guest in the pool area so it’s like we had the place exclusive only for us.
You can check out the prices of in <a href="http://davaocitylistings.com/place/davao-eagle-ridge-resort/">Davao City Listings</a>.

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AzhnQcxD9-M/T89fmUaO9II/AAAAAAAAAyI/QYqsmmZCkrE/s1600/DSC00342.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AzhnQcxD9-M/T89fmUaO9II/AAAAAAAAAyI/QYqsmmZCkrE/s320/DSC00342.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
It has been four long years since I set foot in one of Samal’s beautiful beach – Canibad Cove. I’m not going to say “best” because the place that time was far from those other beaches that offer luxury to their guest with their nice and comfortable rooms and cottages.<br />
<br />
I was with my office mates when I went there. I was excited because I will be able to explore another beach from Samal. I had a work a night before and did not have enough sleep prior to our trip but it did not stop me from being overly excited to discover a new place that many have been calling “the secret paradise”.<br />
<br />
We left Davao as early as 6am but we reach Samal at around 7am because we needed to wait for other passengers for the bangka. When we got off, our jeepney was already waiting, ready to take us to the beautiful Canibad Cove. Good thing that we rented a jeepney going there because the road was bumpy and the travel time was 1 hour and 30 minutes! You can also opt to ride the bus going to Samal then just hop off to the terminal at Central Warehouse Club. From there a lot of single motorcycles are waiting to take to you Canibad Cove, just prepare your wallet though because you will be charged for a hefty amount of cash. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BfHCsbE6MUw/T89fxBaiaYI/AAAAAAAAAyQ/F9AKpygVOOE/s1600/DSC00346.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BfHCsbE6MUw/T89fxBaiaYI/AAAAAAAAAyQ/F9AKpygVOOE/s320/DSC00346.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
After the bumpy and dusty ride, finally we reach the secret paradise. I was ready to get my feet soak in the water but I have to wait for a little longer because we needed to walk downhill for another 15 minutes or so! It rained a night before so you can just imagine how slippery it was going down. I know that we were almost there because I can already hear the sound of the waves crashing to shore and the familiar smell of the ocean breeze.<br />
<br />
It was around 10am when finally reach our destination. It was true after all! Canibad is truly a secret paradise, untouched by modernization and commercialization. There were no luxurious rooms, no restaurants, no abundant supply of water, and there was no network signal; there was only a white sand beach with crystal clear waters. Looking around the beach, all you could see are mountains covering the whole place. This is the place that I want to go when I want to run away from all the stress that city life brings.<br />
<br />
But that was four years ago!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kQRtmapy71w/T89gEXP87cI/AAAAAAAAAyY/54kw_fd81hI/s1600/DSC00354.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kQRtmapy71w/T89gEXP87cI/AAAAAAAAAyY/54kw_fd81hI/s320/DSC00354.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uQ2p-rDMnsY/T89geTt0AjI/AAAAAAAAAyg/2fTbKzPYnek/s1600/DSC00367.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uQ2p-rDMnsY/T89geTt0AjI/AAAAAAAAAyg/2fTbKzPYnek/s320/DSC00367.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Today, Canibad Cove is a highly commercialized beach where you have to pay for almost every thing you do (even taking photos from the other end of the beach). There are already decent room accommodations for a comfortable over night stay. There’s entertainment courtesy of several videoke machines. There's a constant increase in the number of people going there every day.<br />
<br />
The tranquility of the beach is slowly fading thanks to rowdy beach goers.<br />
<br />
Apologies for the photos as I was not blessed to have a high end camera when we went there... </div>travel junkiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14313708148000105034noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7330565213222977223.post-47396574763154880922012-05-28T07:49:00.000-07:002014-05-27T15:25:06.851-07:00Team Building at Villa Amparo Garden Resort in Samal<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SfepK78Z7tI/T8QWGhtGaWI/AAAAAAAAAtg/DIAQnBbQzAA/s1600/villa+amparo+garden+resort.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SfepK78Z7tI/T8QWGhtGaWI/AAAAAAAAAtg/DIAQnBbQzAA/s320/villa+amparo+garden+resort.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
It has been two long years since we had our last team building. It's always been a wonderful feeling to take some time off from work and just enjoy the whole day with your colleagues.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We decided to hold our team building at Villa Amparo Garden Beach Resort in Samal. I've heard about the place before but was not able to get a lot of information about it on the net since there are only few articles written about the resort.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The resort is located in Camudmud, about 20 minutes ride from the barge terminal. We rented a multicab to take us to the resort to make our trip convenient. There are also motorcycles willing to take you to Villa Amparo Garden Resort, just be ready because most drivers will ask for a higher fare. The road is rough and dusty.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Tb1qiQeJyUo/T8QX2DkcS7I/AAAAAAAAAtw/JmdFA8rkdgw/s1600/villa+amparo+resort+samal.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Tb1qiQeJyUo/T8QX2DkcS7I/AAAAAAAAAtw/JmdFA8rkdgw/s320/villa+amparo+resort+samal.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
Upon our arrival, their staff accommodated us right away and guided us to the resort. The place is not really beautiful upon entrance but when you go down, the real beauty is waiting for you! I immediately headed to the beach to check if its crystal clear, unfortunately it is not! A big disappointment since Villa Amparo Garden Beach Resort does not have a pool as alternative. However, do not dismiss the resort right away because they have a wonderful amenities. Despite the not so enticing beach I still consider the resort as very nice because of their amenities and facilities.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uZquy0XpJwQ/T8QW20ZFaPI/AAAAAAAAAto/26XIyHBvPyM/s1600/villa+amparo+garden+resort+samal.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uZquy0XpJwQ/T8QW20ZFaPI/AAAAAAAAAto/26XIyHBvPyM/s320/villa+amparo+garden+resort+samal.JPG" height="320" width="213" /></a></div>
I so love the room where we stayed because it is nice and cozy. I love the fact that we are at the second floor because I get to have a bird's eye view of the entire place. Their air conditioned rooms are still very new and was very well constructed. The management did a wonderful job of maintaining the resort because it's very clean and their staff is always ready to help their guests. They have a huge open cottage for their day tour guests, the cottage is equipped with a cable television and a videoke machine. For those who wants to have a little privacy, there are small open cottages near the beach. Benches are provided for those who wants to get a tan or just simply wants to relax or sleep under the tree. One thing that I find cute about the resort is a space that they call "fitness zone". The resort is allowing their guests to bring food but of course there's a corkage fee! They have a cooking area so guests can bring raw food and just cook them in the resort.<br />
<br />
I can't describe everything how I feel about Villa Amparo Garden Beach Resort. One thing is for sure, I enjoyed my stay there. The place is very nice and secluded, perfect for those who wants to have a total privacy. I would definitely love to go back there soon! I just hope the management will consider constructing a pool. <a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--R4DutcGaCw/T72SeYUoMnI/AAAAAAAAAqA/YcyebnJY2WY/s1600/isla+reta+samal.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--R4DutcGaCw/T72SeYUoMnI/AAAAAAAAAqA/YcyebnJY2WY/s320/isla+reta+samal.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="text-align: justify;">Whenever Samal is mentioned, the first thing that comes to mind is the Pearl Farm Beach Resort. Why not? After all, it’s probably the most famous beach in the Island Garden City of Samal. However, not everybody can afford the beach because it is not for budget tight travelers. Beauty comes with expensive prices and that’s what Pearl Farm is all about!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
However, there’s this one beach that is quietly making a name of its own as of late. The beach that I am talking about is none other than Isla Reta which is located in Talicud Island. It is slowly gaining a lot of attention from tourists not only because of its naturally clear waters and powdery sands but because of its budget friendly rates as well. Isla Reta offers its guest a great experience without spending too much money. The soothing location of the beach makes it a perfect get away!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The last time I visited the beach was back in 2008. Isla Reta is a much laid back beach. You need to bring food because there’s no restaurant in the area. There were only few rooms for those who want to stay overnight. Their rooms are not as convenient because it’s not air-conditioned and sometimes has mosquitoes inside. There are no beddings nor need towels and you to share bathroom with other guests. In short, the beach is not recommended for an overnight stay back then, but we still opted to spend the night over. Some of us slept in the room while some slept in the hammock and in the tent.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hopefully after four years, the beach owner made some improvements in their amenities and facilities because it will definitely attract more tourists if they can offer their guests convenient room accommodation. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is just easy reaching Isla Reta. From Sta Ana Wharf, there’s a boat that will take you to the beach directly. Just ask the people around the pier for the name of the boat. The first trip going to the beach is 8:30 in the morning while the last trip going back to Davao City is 3 in the afternoon. Boat fare is Php80 per head. You can contact Isla Reta at this number (082) 234-7903 for their current rates.</div>travel junkiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14313708148000105034noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7330565213222977223.post-84157131416294175212012-05-22T08:03:00.001-07:002012-05-27T20:38:14.613-07:00Take Time Out at Blue Waters Resort in Samal Island<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ks6KgVK7L3I/T7urfVmIlzI/AAAAAAAAApo/xdQ5WXhu8YQ/s1600/bluewater.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="190" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ks6KgVK7L3I/T7urfVmIlzI/AAAAAAAAApo/xdQ5WXhu8YQ/s320/bluewater.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Blue Waters is just one of the many wonderful beaches in the Island Garden City of Samal. Its turquoise waters and soft white sands and not to mention its tranquil ambiance is ideal for those who wants to get away from the noise of the city. The beach is about 10 to 15 minutes boat ride from the City of Davao. <br />
<br />
Getting there is easy; you can both ride a taxi or public utility jeepneys and just ask the driver to drop you off in Davao Beach Club where the pump boat going to Blue Waters is waiting. The first trip is as early as 7 in the morning and the last trip is at 5 in the afternoon.<br />
<br />
I have been to Blue Waters three times already and every time I visited the place there’s always something new. The last time I was there was August of last year to celebrate my birthday. The place has improved a lot since my last visit. One major improvement was the beach itself. During my second visit, there were still a lot of corals present in the beach which made swimming not so enjoyable because of the corals that you might step on. However this time, the corals seemed to have been taking cared of.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JKtiBkOYu6A/T8LynYSbVmI/AAAAAAAAArA/eDvgXmbRjh4/s1600/DSC_0084.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JKtiBkOYu6A/T8LynYSbVmI/AAAAAAAAArA/eDvgXmbRjh4/s320/DSC_0084.JPG" width="320" /></a>The cottages have been fully constructed too. They now have several cottages for all of their guests who will be staying overnight. The cottages were beautifully made and clean. We rented the Apartel (which by the way was still under construction the last time I was in the place). The room is air-conditioned. It is big and clean. It has a comfort and shower room inside. They have friendly staffs too!<br />
<br />
What made me visit the place several times is the fact that it is not too crowded. I am able to make the most of out my stay there because not a lot of people are going around the place. There are areas that I can have a moment of silence or just blankly looking at the sea.<br />
<br />
The only down side of Blue Waters is that it is a bit expensive. The food in their restaurant is not too budget-friendly. The guest can bring food but they have to pay corkage (which is also a bit expensive). Other than that I have mentioned, I highly recommend the place for a nice and relaxing vacation!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sqy8Wp5XfLU/T7Wc2PLFECI/AAAAAAAAApA/nzZKPBoLf9M/s1600/DSC_0031.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sqy8Wp5XfLU/T7Wc2PLFECI/AAAAAAAAApA/nzZKPBoLf9M/s320/DSC_0031.JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Surigao Del Sur is blessed with a lot of natural wonders! If one wants to be awed by the beauty of nature, then head on to Surigao Del Sur. It is located in the CARAGA region which is about 5 to 6 hours drive from Davao City. Mode of transportation can be through commercial buses/vans or airplane if you are traveling from Luzon or Visayas.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For years, I have wanted to visit the place and see two of their famous attractions – the Tinuy-an Falls and the Enchanted River. Alas! The day that I have been waiting finally came, together with my friends and some other travelers, we explored Surigao. We rented a van that we could use for the whole duration of our trip. Just a tip to those who wants to go to the place, if you don’t have your own car, better rent a van because it’s going to be a long and bumpy ride going to Tinuy-an Falls and Enchanted River. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Our first stop was at the Tinuy-an Falls. Getting to the falls was not an easy ride. From the highway, you need to travel for 13 kilometers more (rough road all the way). However, the long drive was all worth it because the falls is just truly God’s gift to nature. Dubbed as the “Little Niagara”, the falls is 95 feet wide and has three cascading falls which when combined will reach up to 180 feet tall. The water flowing from the falls forms a white curtain like image which makes it a beautiful scene to look at. We climbed up to the second level of the falls and from there it was just a perfect view. One can also see a rainbow across the water between 9AM to 11AM in the morning so be sure to prepare your cameras. Through the years, the falls has become one of the best tourist destinations in the city of Bislig.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-o8o3DbmHHy8/T7WdbFLOslI/AAAAAAAAApI/s7Y6tbuPp0w/s1600/DSC02751.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-o8o3DbmHHy8/T7WdbFLOslI/AAAAAAAAApI/s7Y6tbuPp0w/s320/DSC02751.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Our next stop was at the Enchanted River, another famous tourist destination in Surigao Davao Del Sur. It is 12 kilometers away from the highway and just like our previous stop the road was rough. The river has color blue and green water. The blue colored water is the deepest part of the river while the green colored is the shallow part. Local folks say that such color of the water is due to a combination of fresh and saltwater of Hinutuan Bay. There were a lot of travelers when we got there and the place was almost full but that did not stop us from soaking the cold water of the Enchanted River. I need to borrow a life jacket since I don’t know how to swim (darn, I badly need to get a swimming lesson!) nonetheless I enjoyed my limited swimming time.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--w6a2PL-Zrs/T7WeBChTRII/AAAAAAAAApQ/iUzEBlIsVYo/s1600/DSC_0336.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--w6a2PL-Zrs/T7WeBChTRII/AAAAAAAAApQ/iUzEBlIsVYo/s320/DSC_0336.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Then we headed to our next destination, Joan’s Beach Resort in San Agustin where we spent the night over. The beach was not as good as compared to the beaches in Samal Island but good enough to relax our tired body. It does not really matter to me because the beach was not really our main stop over. The following day, we headed to our main stop over which is the Britania Group of Islands! We rented a motorized boat to take us to 5 different islands (I can only remember the name of two islands – Hagonoy Island and Naked Island). The sea was very still and calm for the whole duration of our island hopping. I decided not to plunge into the water as I wanted to take more photos of every island.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Then it was time for us to travel back to Davao City. Our stay in the province of Surigao was amazing and full of laughter. Another chapter of my book of travel has been written!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Oh by the way, we went to see Lolong on our way back to Davao!<br />

</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zoGjYOT0AR8/T8LwwaeSorI/AAAAAAAAAq4/PWwGgHq2OvI/s1600/DSC_0603.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zoGjYOT0AR8/T8LwwaeSorI/AAAAAAAAAq4/PWwGgHq2OvI/s320/DSC_0603.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Getting close to nature is never a problem when you go to Eden Nature Park.<br />
<br />
Eden Nature Park is just one of the many tourist attractions in Davao City. It is about one and a half hour drive from the Davao City airport. It is located in Eden Bayabas, Toril. The park sits right at the foot of Mt. Talomo. The place is cold especially at night; this is because it is 2,650 feet above sea level. It also offers a best view of the entire Davao City. The park is surrounded by thousands of pine trees thus giving its guests a gentle climate and unsullied forest air. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The place is perfect for celebrating special occasions because of its relaxing ambiance. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The park offers various activities such as zip lining, horse back riding, trekking, fishing, swimming or just simply going around the park to see the beauty of nature. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Other must-see places of the park are the Amphitheater, Lola’s Garden, Flower Garden, Plaza Maria, and Mayumi’s well. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ejow7_ywsHE/T8LvFQHM-rI/AAAAAAAAAqg/GA7S3nKrz_4/s1600/DSC_0460.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ejow7_ywsHE/T8LvFQHM-rI/AAAAAAAAAqg/GA7S3nKrz_4/s320/DSC_0460.JPG" width="320" /></a>Kids can enjoy the vast playground while the kids at heart can experience the thrill of riding the Indiana Jones. Various bird species as well as different animals can be found in the “Pasyalan”. Swimming pool is located at the peak of the park so you need to do some stretching first to prepare yourself for a long walk, you can opt to ride their shuttle though if walking is not really your favorite exercise. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For adventure lover, don’t forget to trek down their mountain trail and be sure to have enough stamina because it’s going to be a rough walk down the stretch. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For day tour guests, a shuttle is available to take you to different parts of the park. Then you can satisfy your hungry stomach with their sumptuous buffet lunch or you can go fishing and have your catch cooked by their standby chef. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For those who are staying overnight, Eden Nature Park offers several types of room accommodation. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Z22r4raNZ8k/T8LwUFMsz_I/AAAAAAAAAqw/M4FgQoJ0Q_k/s1600/DSC_0764.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Z22r4raNZ8k/T8LwUFMsz_I/AAAAAAAAAqw/M4FgQoJ0Q_k/s320/DSC_0764.JPG" width="320" /></a>Those who are planning to visit Eden Nature Park; prior reservation is advised to avoid the hustle of going there. You can opt to ride their official transportation or if you know the place, you can take a taxi (for convenience) or if you are the adventurous type, you can ride a jeepney (choose the Toril route) then tell the driver to drop you off at Mercury Toril branch, from there a lot of single motorcycles are waiting for you to take you to one Davao’s wonderful tourist spots. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://www.edennaturepark.com.ph/"><b>Eden Nature Park</b></a> also offers special packages so be sure to check out their site first before making a reservation!</div>travel junkiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14313708148000105034noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7330565213222977223.post-25219867199723816092012-04-17T20:29:00.003-07:002012-05-21T17:20:02.999-07:00Bohol Countryside Tour Experience<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6jUmubGcwEM/T442u5fYDjI/AAAAAAAAAmo/k1gY_TGgSmU/s1600/431521_10150666452309438_708334437_9126557_1272760661_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="100" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6jUmubGcwEM/T442u5fYDjI/AAAAAAAAAmo/k1gY_TGgSmU/s200/431521_10150666452309438_708334437_9126557_1272760661_n.jpg" width="100" /></a></div>
<st1:place>Bohol</st1:place> is a
perfect place if you want to get close to nature. My friends and I was able to visit the place
last March and we definitely want to go back there.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
We were lucky enough to have a
very accommodating tour guide though not really the best but he was gracious
enough to give in to our few requests throughout our stay there.<br />
<br />
We reach Bohol around 4 in the afternoon so we just opted to stay in our room since we are a bit tired of the long travel. We waited for the night to come for us to check out the popular Panglao Beach.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
We spent three days and two
nights in <st1:place>Bohol</st1:place> but it was not enough because there are
a lot of wonderful places to go to.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
To start it off, during our second day of tour we went to the following places:</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<ul style="margin-top: 0in;" type="disc">
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in; text-align: justify;">Blood Compact Shrine – this is where the first treaty
between the brown and white races. Involved in the treaty was the
conquistador Miguel Lopez de Legazpi and local chieftain Rajah Sikatuna. The
treaty was done through drinking wine with mixed blood thus calling it “Blood
Compact”.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in; text-align: justify;"><st1:place><st1:placename>Baclayon</st1:placename> <st1:placetype>Church</st1:placetype></st1:place>
– the church was built during the 16th century during the Spaniards reign.
It is one of the oldest stone churches in the <st1:country-region>Philippines</st1:country-region>.
In the church, you can see the face of Father Pio and the Mother and child
painting.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in; text-align: justify;">Albur Python – probably the biggest snake I’ve seen
in my entire life.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in; text-align: justify;">Tarsier – I finally get to see one of the most endangered
species of the country.</li>
</ul>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
Then we had our lunch in <st1:place>Bohol</st1:place>’s
famous <st1:place><st1:placename>Loboc</st1:placename> <st1:placetype>River</st1:placetype></st1:place>.
It was a very nice experience and the food was superb. While eating, the barge
will take you to the other side of the river and you get to see all these
wonderful sceneries. Very relaxing!</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Just when we thought we’ve seen
it all, our tour was far from over. Our next stop would be at the following
places:</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<ul style="margin-top: 0in;" type="disc">
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list: l1 level1 lfo2; tab-stops: list .5in; text-align: justify;">Butterfly Sanctuary – where you can see different
kinds of butterflies. You also get to know little history about the tiny
feathery creatures. One thing that I can’t forget about the place was how
funny their staff was.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list: l1 level1 lfo2; tab-stops: list .5in; text-align: justify;">Bilar Man <st1:place>Forest</st1:place> – it’s a
forest made by man. I felt like I was driving along the countryside part
of <st1:country-region>America</st1:country-region>.
All these tall pine tress (not quite sure if it’s pine trees though) they
are just wonderful to look at.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list: l1 level1 lfo2; tab-stops: list .5in; text-align: justify;">Ship House – the one that was featured in Rated K.
The house was uniquely built. It has a very nice interior design and a very ship like (that's why its called ship house in the first place), it’s as if you are aboard of a
real ship.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list: l1 level1 lfo2; tab-stops: list .5in; text-align: justify;">Chocolate Hills – our last stop was the famous
Chocolate Hills. The view from the top was breathtaking. The experience,
you can’t trade that with anything material!</li>
</ul>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
After Chocolate Hills, we called
it the day. We headed back to Alona Grove Resort where we were staying. The resort is located in Panglao.<br />
<br />
Panglao is famous for its white sand beaches and many tourists flock to the place everyday.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Our third day in <st1:place>Bohol</st1:place>
was equally fun and exciting. We went to the following places:</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<ul style="margin-top: 0in;" type="disc">
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list: l2 level1 lfo3; tab-stops: list .5in; text-align: justify;"><st1:place>Bohol</st1:place> Bee Farm – natural and
organic food is being served in the place. Not to mention you will be
rubbing elbows with the bees (I exaggerated that one a bit).</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list: l2 level1 lfo3; tab-stops: list .5in; text-align: justify;"><st1:place><st1:placename>Hinagdanan</st1:placename> <st1:placetype>Cave</st1:placetype></st1:place>
– the most famous cave in <st1:place>Bohol</st1:place>. It has a deep
lagoon and naturally lighted cavern. You can see large stalactites and
stalagmites.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list: l2 level1 lfo3; tab-stops: list .5in; text-align: justify;"><st1:place><st1:placename>Dauis</st1:placename> <st1:placetype>Church</st1:placetype></st1:place>
– another beautiful church.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list: l2 level1 lfo3; tab-stops: list .5in; text-align: justify;">Bayoyoy – he was featured in Rated K too. Probably
the smallest man in the <st1:country-region>Philippines</st1:country-region>. </li>
</ul>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
So that’s it! That concluded our
trip to <st1:place>Bohol</st1:place>. Three days was not enough because I know
there are still a lot of wonderful places to go. Nonetheless, we had so much fun and
another experience that will be forever treasured!</div>

But one great disadvantage that it brings to us is the undeniable fact that it gradually makes us lose physical interaction with nature and other people as well. I feel one needs to begin to look beyond the confines of our homes, workplaces, and cities that we adore for us to see the beauty that lies on the other side of the earth. Like this dangerous yet ecstatic vision in the province of Batangas, on the island of Luzon, Philippines known as Taal Lake.<br /><br />A vista of Taal Lake, formely known as Bonbon Lake, can be enjoyed from many surrounding locations like, Mt. Maculot, Balete, San Nicolas, Batangas and a lot more. But the “Tagaytay-Taal Ridge” in Tagaytay City is the most preferred vantage point, both for foreign and local tourists alike, to enjoy a safer and a sweeping view of the lake.<br /><br />Taal Lake is the deepest and the third largest lake in the Philippines and also famous for being the home where the world's smallest but most active volcanoes lie in its waters, called Taal Volcano. Making it to the list of lakes from all corners of the world possessing “all the right extremes” showcasing nature at its most spectacular, as the fourth most beautiful lake in the world.<br /><br />Moreover, Taal Lake is the crater of a crater of an island. Near the center of Taal Lake is Volcano Island that has a small lake that holds a small island called the Vulcan Point. And if you need further explanation - Taal Lake is the world's largest lake on an island in a lake on an island that has its own small island within. Whew! Amazing right?<br /><br />Furthermore, Taal Volcano will be equally worth mentioning being an integral part of Taal Lake. Taal Volcano has had 33 recorded eruptions since its first known outburst in 1572. Its most catastrophic eruption occurred in 1754 and 1911. Making the whole region surrounding Taal at considerable volcanic risk any time any day. That is why it has been declared as a permanent danger zone. And a joint effort from the Department of Tourism, PHIVOLCS and other local units have been closely monitoring Taal Volcano's activities to make sure significant development will be immediately relayed to the traveling public and “exploring fans” as well.<br /><br />Yet despite Taal's obvious dangerous attributes, it has maintained its reputation as one of the Philippines major tourist attractions and photographed views. It surely have won the hearts of nature lovers, travelers and sightseers who came from far and near witness a uniquely intriguing natural wonder. </div>travel junkiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14313708148000105034noreply@blogger.com0
