    Ang Tribu Bagobo Woodlands Resort

It started with a heavy rain...then the water level was high in the city streets..plus jeepneys were always full..I got out of the house around 4:30PM but reached the office of my travel buddy around 6PM, by the way our house is just 30 minutes ride on a normal day..perhaps the weather is trying to send me a message not to push through with our impending travel to the southern part of Mindanao but we went on with the plan anyway..

6:45PM - we were finally at the Bus Terminal. At exactly 7PM the bus left the terminal and our adventure began. We reached Digos Terminal around 9PM. We originally plan to go directly to Ang Tribu Bagobo Woodlands Resorts but since it is already late and the travel going to our main destination is not safe during night time, we opted to just spend the night over in Digos City – which by the way is not part of our plan.

We woke up early the next day so that we still have enough time to explore the place and enjoy the beauty of nature in Ang Tribu Bagobo Woodlands Resort. Travel time from Digos to Sitio Mahayag is about 30 to 45 minutes depending on the speed of the motorcycle.

You have two transportation options going to Ang Tribu Bagobo Woodlands Resort: one is by the conventional way - the van ride and the not so conventional one - the motorcycle ride. We chose the second option because we were told that we have to wait for two hours before we can leave Digos City if we will ride the van. After a bumpy and curvy motorcycle ride, we finally reached our destination! We were greeted by the staff of the resort and our friends were also waiting for us.

The place was indeed scenic. In the background, you can see two gorgeous mountains – Mt. Matutum and Mt. Apo. We were surrounded with mountains and trees and I just love the smell of the fresh air – something that you can't smell in the city these days.

After breakfast, we began taking pictures and touring the resort. We then dipped into their cold swimming pool. I had a quick lesson on how to float from my swimmer friends - Ars and Mae. We're friends for more than a decade already and they two are also my constant travel mate.

It was already late in the afternoon that we decided to pack our bags and head back home. We were very confident that we will be able to get a ride back to Digos City without a hassle but we were wrong! We waited for more than 30 minutes already and still couldn't get a ride back to the City. It started to rain and riding a motorcycle is not the safest thing to do because of the slippery road. Good thing that the resort have their own service and the management allowed to take us to the city for a reasonable price.

Another trip has come to an end and another experience will be put to memory book! Till next time travel buddies!
